Kenneth R. McClure, 83, passed away peacefully at Cheyenne Life Care on March 12, 2017. He was born January 3, 1934 in Torrington, Wyoming to Ray and Dorothy McClure.
He joined the U.S. Army in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1956. Ken attended Goshen County Community College and the University of Wyoming. He received a BA in math and history and a Masters in computer science. He taught math at Cheyenne area schools for 31 years and was an East High girls’ track coach.
Ken married Deloras (Dee) Ross on September 9, 1956. They were married 60 years. He cared deeply for his family, both immediate and extended. Ken was a UW football season ticket holder. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at their mountain cabin.
Ken is survived by his wife Dee, two sons Terry (Bonnie) of Kersey, Colorado and Marty (Patty) of Cheyenne. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Kenneth and Hannah McClure, a sister Ruth Clemens and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a niece.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
