Kelly Jon Cavanagh, 50, of Cheyenne died on April 23, 2019 at the Granite Rehabilitation and Wellness Center.
He was born on March 25, 1969 in Heidelberg, Germany to John and Judith Palmer Cavanagh.
Kelly was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Central High School in 1987 and was a member of the marching band, jazz band, and the Cheyenne Civic band. He attended LCCC, Chadron State College, and the University of Wyoming. He was majoring in music education and planning to be a high school band instructor before being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1990. Kelly was a door greeter at Sam’s Club for 2 years.
He is survived by his stepfather, Charles DeFond; aunt, Kate Scott; uncles, Larry "Corky" Palmer (Cynthia) and Harry “Rusty” Palmer (Suzi); stepsister, Andi DeFond Mikulski (Chris); and his special friends, Jerry "Hoss" Peterson (Renee) and Monique and Kaylee Robinson.
He was preceded in death by his mother Judith "Sherry" DeFond; grandparents, Harry and Norma Palmer and John and Sally Cavanagh; aunt Molly Cavanagh Mooney.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Services will be Wednesday, 2:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
