Juanita “Louise” English, 81, of Hillsdale, died on February 2, 2022 in Cheyenne.
She was born on October 7, 1940 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Warren and Violet (Bonnie) Hill and lived in Cheyenne until she met her husband Thomas and they married and moved to Hillsdale in the early 1960’s, where they raised 3 children. Linda Bostron, Tammy L Spinuzzi, and Thomas W English.
Louise was a great cook who was often found feeding the grandkids and their friend’s breakfast before school or after practice, they all called her grandma. She was a beautiful seamstress making everything from wedding dresses to mending bib overalls for her favorite other son.
She worked many jobs from a car hop on roller skates, waitress, and clerk in as she called it the 5 and dime store. She then became a full-time mom until Tom started school and she started as the school cook in Hillsdale and Burns from which she retired after 28 years. She was a 4H leader and always ready to chaperone on FFA trips. She was a self-taught Art instructor teaching oil painting through LCCC for several years. She loved to fish and camp, boy was she proud of that old airstream camper which she made beautiful curtains for and recovered all of the benches. She spent many weekends and weeks at Crystal or Granite with the grandkids teaching them to fish sitting on the bank.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Tom whom she was married to for over 50 years; daughter, Tammy Spinuzzi; son, Thomas English; her sisters, Jean and Janet; and brother James.
She is survived by her sister Barbara Wyatt; daughter, Linda Bostron; grandchildren, Brian, Sheyla, Steven, Shanay Chance and Cole; plus 6 great grandchildren.
The family would like to extent an enormous heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at Granite Rehabilitation and Wellness 3rd floor who cared for her as though she was their own for 2 ½ years. Dementia is a terrible thing and they handle it with compassion and kindness.
Graveside services will be Friday, 1:00 p.m., at Gethsemane Gardens Cemetery in Hillsdale.
