Josephine Lupe Hernandez, 62, of Greeley, Colorado, entered the gates of Heaven Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 5:40 a.m.
She was born May 25, 1953, in Cheyenne, a daughter of Ralph V. and Mary G. (Garcia) Hernandez. Josie lived in Cheyenne, Fort Collins, and most recently Greeley, having moved there in 1993.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing cards, working puzzles and she also read palms and cards for people.
Survivors include two sons, Martin Pacheco of Greeley; Levy (Dominique) Pacheco of Greeley; four daughters, Leshi (Fernando) Ibarra of Greeley; Arcenia (Elias) DeLeon of Greeley; Dora (Rosalio) Villarreal of Greeley; and Latrisha (Ray Munoz) Hernandez of Greeley; eighteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; six brothers, Frank (Gennie) Hernandez of Mesa, Arizona; Dale Hernandez of Fort Collins; James Hernandez of Cheyenne; Hank (Anita) Hernandez of Longmont, CO; Gilbert (Annette) Hernandez of Cheyenne; Paul (Cindy) Hernandez of Greeley; two sisters, Jennie (Daniel) Hernandez of Cheyenne; Delores (Jesse) Hernandez of Cheyenne and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Carmin and a brother Ralph.
Vigil Services will be Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Funeral Liturgy will be Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Father August Koeune as celebrant.
Casket Bearers will be Levy Pacheco, Fernando Ibarra, Elias DeLeon, Rosalio Villarreal, A.J. Mora and Ray Munoz. Honorary Bearers will be Martin Pacheco, Levy Pacheco Jr., Fernando Ibarra III, Rosalio Villarreal Jr., Alex DeLeon and Angelo Pacheco.
The family asks that donations be made to them in care of Arcenia DeLeon, 1017 5th St. #1 Greeley, CO 80361.
Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
