Josephine I. Escobedo, 90, went to the Lord on Dec. 12 at Life Care Center of Cheyenne.
Josephine was born Jan. 25, 1926, in Gorizia, Italy. She married Frank G. Escobedo, who was stationed with the U.S. Army in Italy, on Oct. 15, 1946, in Gorizia.
They made their home in Cheyenne and had six children.
Josephine was an accomplished seamstress and dress designer. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was very active in the church, helping with funeral dinners, making vestments and Baptismal garments, taking Communion to those who were homebound and in nursing homes, and spending three hours weekly at the Adoration Chapel.
Josephine is survived by her children, George (Patti) Escobedo, Jeanne Johnson and John Escobedo, all of Cheyenne, Marie (Lloyd) Hearns of Vancouver, Wash., and Mark (Jennifer) Escobedo of Las Vegas. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, Felice and Teresa Caussero; brothers, Germano and Lionello Caussero; sisters, Carmen and Liliana Caussero; her husband, Frank G. Escobedo; and a son, Frank Escobedo Jr.
Rosary and vigil service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Church, and interment will be at Olivet Cemetery.
