Joseph Lopez Jr (Tata) also known as “Grandpa Joe”, 73, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away peacefully on Monday, May 31, 2021, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Joe was born on February 29, 1948, to the late Lewis and Mary Linder in Menard, Texas.
Joe married the love of his life, Christine Lopez, on November 2, 1968. For all their 52 years together, they loved and cared for their children and grandchildren. Throughout his life, Joe worked in the construction field as a carpenter but spent majority of his employment working as a yard hostler for multiple truck companies in which he loved very much. Joe’s passion was going fishing especially with his sons. He loved spending time with his family and especially the grandchildren telling stories of his childhood and always telling jokes. Although Joe was a big Wyoming Cowboy fan, he was even a bigger Denver Bronco fan. He loved to watch the Broncos play every Sunday with his sons and grandchildren. He loved to watch westerns and especially John Wayne which was his idle.
Joe is survived by his wife, Christine; sons, Joseph (Nadene), Eddie (Laura), Leondro (Sheli) and Sammy (Gisele) and 11 grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters, Lola, Geneva, and Debbie and nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Lewis Linder; mother; Mary Linder; brothers, Larry and Sammy Lopez; sister Gloria Lamar and grandchildren Joseph, Daniel and Dominic.
The Rosary and memorial service will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic church on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 10:30 a. m.
Honorary Pall bearers will be Joseph Lopez, Eddie Lopez, Leondro Lopez, Sammy Lopez, Gabriel Lopez, Levi Lopez, Isaac Lopez, Adrian Lopez, Anthony Lopez, Darrian Lopez, and Romeo Lopez.
