Joseph J. Borghi, 83, of Cheyenne, died Sunday, May 14, surrounded by family, at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
He was born January 10, 1934 in New York City to Battista and Virginia Borghi. He lived in New Jersey until he entered the U.S. Navy in 1952. In 1957 he crossed services and entered the U.S. Air Force until he retired in 1974. He owned a bar in Fort Collins for a short while before moving to Cheyenne to raise his family. Here he worked for the Wyoming Occupational Health and Safety Program until he once again retired in 1994.
He enjoyed watching a good football game, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Joe never met a stranger. He always had a story or joke for anyone.
Joseph was a member of several fraternal organizations, American Legion Post 6, VFW, AMVETS and Fraternal Order of the Moose.
He was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Saundra; a son, John Borghi; grandchildren, Bryan and Becky Hauze.
Survivors include daughters, Laura (Tom) Brehmer of Montoursville, PA; Lisa (Randy) Corbet of Burns; and Patti (Tom) Skubal of Gillette, WY; grandchildren, Brandon Hauze of Bloomburg, PA; Anthony MacDonald of Gillette; Dustin and Tyler Corbet of Cheyenne; great grandchildren, Emmet Hauze of Bloomburg, PA; Rela and Reese MacDonald of Gillette.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Interment of his urn will follow at Beth El Cemetery.
