Jose V. Lucero, 98, of Cheyenne, passed away peacefully Monday, January 19, 2015 at the Davis Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 13, 1916 in Mora, N.M. and had lived in Cheyenne since 1942.
Mr. Lucero was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral.
He was a worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 37 years.
He is survived by three daughters, Susie Gray (Earl) of Arizona, Precilla Romag (Kirk) of California and Della Davey (Larry Blackwell) of Cheyenne; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Mr. Lucero was preceded in death by his wife, Martina Lucero, whom he married Jan. 27, 1938 in Mora; one brother, Michael; two sisters, Nash and Trinnie; his parents, Florentino Lucero and Susana (Cordova) Romero and a grandson.
Cremation has taken place and graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2015 at Mt. View Memorial Park.
