John W. Thomas, Sr., 76, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born February 16, 1941 in Marianna, Arkansas to Spencer and Eola Thomas and had lived in Cheyenne for 55 years.
Mr. Thomas retired as a cement finisher for Reiman Corporation.
He was a member of the Church of God in Christ.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Mary; four sons; John W. Thomas, Jr., of Cheyenne, Orlando Cedric Boatner of Denver, Charles Anthony Boatner of Los Angeles, and Jamie D. Boatner of San Francisco; four daughters, Belinda Henderson of St. Louis, Brenda Washington of Denver, Barbara Carmichael of Illinois, and Sherry Caldwell-Hawkins of Atlanta; a brother, PastorJewel Thomas of Cheyenne; four sisters, Ruby Lee Brown and Mattie Hall of Marianna; Lurelene and Hattie Thomas of Memphis; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a goddaughter, Domica Williams.
He was preceded by his parents; and three brothers, Spencer, Jr., John Lee and Bruce.
Services will be Friday, 2:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with Pastor Jewel Thomas officiating.
Honorary casket bearers will be John W. Thomas, Jr., Ray Thomas, Carey Hill, Jr., Peter Rodan, Ersell Newson and Dajuan Thomas.
Visitation will be Wednesday and Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
