John A. Selvey, 96, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Granite Rehab and Wellness Center of Cheyenne. John was born on October 1, 1921, to William F. and Eunice (Gray) Selvey. He was born in Marionville, Missouri, and moved to Del Norte, Colorado, when he was five. He had five brothers (Keith, Myron, Franklin, Roland, & Harlan) and one sister (Margaret). He served his country during WWII from 1942 until 1946. John went to Southern California Bible College and at the age of 70 completed his master’s degree in gerontology from Mankato State University. He married Fern Ruth Pope on September 2, 1948.They were blessed with three children Philip, Ruth, (Ken Granger), and Paul (Christine Sturlin). They have seven grandchildren (Gigi, Kenny John, Kendra, Rachel, Rebekah, Benjamin, & Timothy) and four great-grandchildren (Teigen & Alice, Lilly & Anthony). John served the Assemblies of God for over fifty years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, his daughter Ruth, and his wife Fern. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Online
