John R. Merrell

John R. Merrell, 82, passed away Tuesday, January 27th at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, WY.
He was born October 3, 1932 in Bridgeport, IL to Marval Riley and Ada Ethel (Ash) Merrell.
John was an member of Cheyenne Hills Church in Cheyenne, WY and The Carpenters House in Tennessee. He was an Air Force veteran, fireman, father, stepfather, father-in-law, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was one of a kind with a heart of gold.
He is preceded in death by his wife Dolly (Hooper) Merrell. He is survived by his children Steve (Talane) Merrell of Carpenter, WY, Cindy (John) Hamilton-Stoelting of Westminister, CO, Johnnie (Shawna) Merrell of Cheyenne, WY, Mike (Julie) Merrell of Hermitage, TN, Pat (DeAnn) Merrell of Cheyenne, WY, Kelly (Shelly) Merrell of Cheyenne , WY, Kim (Pete) Duvenhorst of Levittown, NY and Becky (Matt) Wilson of Cheyenne, WY. He also is survived by his stepchildren Mickey Matlock and Stan (Sheila)Matlock of Tennessee. He is survived by numerous grandchildren and stepgrandchildren, as well as, several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes, 1900 East 19th Street Cheyenne, WY on Saturday, January 31 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing with the family from 9:00-1:30. Interment will be held at Coleman Cemetery in Murfreesboro TN.
