John Mchone

April 16, 1945 — March 24, 2016

John William “Bill” McHone, 70, died March 24 in Chandler, Ariz.

Born April 16, 1945, in Oceanside, Calif., Bill and his family moved to Cheyenne when he was six months old. He remained there for the majority of his life.

Bill’s charismatic flair made him a fan favorite on the race track and an ace Snap-On Tools salesman, who developed as many friends as he did customers.

In his younger days, he was an avid bowler and became a pretty mean cook following a managing stint at the old Village Inn on Lincolnway.

Bill was big on guns, hunting, his grandkids and teasing his nieces and nephews. If he picked on you, he probably liked you; or in many cases, loved you.

Bill is survived by his sons, Jack and David, and their spouses, Heather and Noelle; a stepson, Brannon Hamlin; his sisters, Myra Sprague, Mary Scott and Jan Hahl; a brother, Jim McHone; and his grandchildren, Dyllon, Taylor, Curtis, Camryn, Alysha and Robert.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Mary McHone; his wife, Marilyn McHone; and his stepdaughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Richard Ketcham.
