John "JD" King, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on November 18, 2024, at the Cheyenne Veterans Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 25, 1959, at Hill Air Force Base in Weber, Utah, and grew up to become a dedicated member of his community and family.
JD was a hard worker, always willing lend a hand and support those he loved. His career included roles at 2lazy2c LLC, as a day trader, and as the owner and operator of JD King Livestock & Trucking. He also drove for CR England and managed Rattlesnake Ranch, where his commitment and work ethic truly shone. JD graduated from Greeley High School in Greeley, Colorado, and later served with honor in the United States Air Force from 1979 to 1994, where he specialized as a Pararescue and Security Police officer.
In addition to his professional life, JD had a passion for beekeeping, a hobby he nurtured at Cheyenne Majestic Honey. His love for nature and the environment was a testament to the caring person he was, always interested in learning and sharing.
JD is survived by his beloved wife, Ginger King, and children: Breana Janson, Chelsea (Josh) Leonhardt, Wyatt King, MeadowAnn King, and Bella King. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Austin Oulman, Dakota Oulman, Gage Gipfert, Bryce Leonhardt, and Ronan Leonhardt, and he was proud to also welcome a great-grandchild, Sabrina Oluman. He shared his home, heart, and many adventures with Rowdy King, his faithful companion dog.
JD was preceded by his father, John William King, his mother, Dixie Ann King, his sister, Linda Lee Poulson, and his granddaughter, Dakota Oulman. His absence is felt deeply, but his spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched with his kindness and unwavering support.
