John Easter, 89, beloved dad and papa, of Cheyenne, passed away Tuesday, December 10th at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado.
John was born on August 21, 1930 and raised in Cheyenne, graduating from Cheyenne High School in 1948. After graduation, he enlisted in the Wyoming Army Air Corp during the Korean Conflict and went on to retire from the Wyoming National Guard. He spent 38 years with the US Postal Service in Cheyenne, carrying mail through snow, sleet, rain, hail and the dark of night.
His many interests included (most recently) knife making, belonging to the Professional Knife Makers Association for many years and a lifetime member of the CRPC; jewelry making belonging to the Mineral and Gem Society; and teaching Lapidary at LCCC; and painting while belonging to the local Artist Guild. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. He cherished the time he spent with his family, even teaching them to fish.
John is survived by his loving wife of 66 years; and his daughter, Elizabeth (Jeff).
John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Edna Easter; and his brother.
Per his request, cremation will take place and there are no services or interment.
