John B. Barbour, Jr., 88, went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2017, passing away at home.
He was born on January 28, 1929 in Olive Branch, Mississippi to John and Evelyn (Bailey) Barbour.
After high school graduation, he served three years in the U.S. Air Force.
He married Marie Horn on July 15, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri. They lived in Tennessee and Mississippi before moving to Colorado where he continued working for the FAA. In 1998, they moved to Cheyenne and he helped build a new home.
He loved God and his family, especially giving the little one’s rides on his tractor. He enjoyed flying his private small plane, hunting, fishing, and playing his guitar for entertainment.
John is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marie; two sons, Gene (Corine) and Michael Barbour; daughter, Karen Berdinner (Richard); sister, Margaret McClain (Jimmy); grandchildren, Amy Townsend (Philip), Alisa Gentry, and Kael, Anna, John Luke and Aria Barbour, and Erick Berdinner; great-grandchildren, Faith, Elijah, Marley, River, and Elliott.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Walter, David, Mark, and James; and grandson, Ryan Berdinner.
Private family graveside services will be held at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
