Joseph D. “Joe” Pando, 79, of Cheyenne died February 17th at the Veterans Administration Medical
Center in Cheyenne.
He was born January 8, 1938 in Cleveland, New Mexico and had lived in Cheyenne since 1947.
Joe served in the United States Marine Corps.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral and was a forklift operator for the Wyoming State Liquor Commission for 15 years. He also worked as a truck driver for the City of Cheyenne Sanitation Department for 10 years. He was a teacher’s aide and had attended college to earn a teaching degree.
Joe is survived by his wife, Pauline, whom he married January 24, 1959; daughter, Debbie Payne (Brian); son, Jeff Pando (Angela) of Cheyenne; brothers, Corsino Pando of New Mexico, Alfred Pando (Vi), Ernie Pando (Eulene) both of Utah, and Leo Pando (Sharon) of Colorado; sisters, Corina Garcia of Utah and Lena Gutierrez (Roger) of Cheyenne; four grandchildren, Joseph (Veronica), Jay (Kristel), Pam (Jackson), and Jenna; great-grandchildren, Adrina, Jolena, JoJo, Anthony and Marica; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Demetrio and Delphinia Pando; son, Joe Pando; brothers, Jake Pando, Rosendo Pando, Bill Pando and Julian Pando; sisters, Caroline Pando, Corina Pando, Juanita Martinez and Selane Medina and one great-grandson, Beau Michael.
Vigil for the Deceased will be Wednesday, 6:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Funeral Liturgy will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Cathedral.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
