Jim Dreiling, 77, passed away May 28th in Cheyenne at Davis Hospice Center. He was born January 29, 1939 to Al and Iva (Wilson) Dreiling in Merced, California. He lived in Kansas until the family came to Wyoming around 1950. Jim lived in Cheyenne from 1955 on, and worked for Read Ready Mix, Teton Construction, Rissler and McMurry, and Simon Construction. He also worked in road construction in asphalt as a supervisor. He and his crew earned an Asphalt of the Year Award in the 1970’s on a section of I-80. In his later years he gave up supervising and went back to operating equipment until retirement. Jim loved camping trips with his granddaughter and watching auto racing. During his last years he loved taking rides anywhere. Jim leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Margie (Long), daughter Vallene, son Jim, granddaughter Justine Hansen, a great-grandson Oenemaus Hansen, a sister Claudia Currey, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ed Gardner, and Tom and Richard Dreiling. Services will be held at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel at 10am on Wednesday June 1st. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to the charity of choice.
