Jerry David Shutt Sr. 79 of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away July 21, 2021, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center due to complications of Covid-19. Jerry was born on September 22, 1941, in Dallas, SD to Alvin and Florence (Dodds) Shutt. He married Ginger Soesbe on August 1, 1961, moved to Cheyenne in 1968 and had four children. Jerry was a loving father, grandfather, and friend. He was a member of Eastern Star and the Cheyenne Masons. He worked for Harris Motor until 1985 when he opened Shutt’s Auto Repair. Jerry was a lover of cars, overly kind and generous to a fault. Jerry is survived by daughters Melanie Shutt and Michelle Harsin; sons Jerry (Theresa) Shutt and Lowell (Carly) Shutt; grandchildren Scott Harsin, Shawn Harsin, Jeremy (Jordan) Shutt, Jason (Alyssa) Shutt, Leah Combs, Josh Shutt, Taylor Shutt, Crosby Shutt, Delbert Spence and Candy Spence; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many other family members. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Ginger, parents, 2 brothers, 1 son-in-law; Louie Harsin, 1 grandson; Terence James Gilligan, 1 granddaughter, Brook Shutt and 1 foster daughter, Tammy Spence. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in their hometown of Gregory, SD. Graveside services will be at the Gregory IOOF Cemetery on Wednesday at 2pm.
