Jeanine G. Hodges, 80, of Cheyenne, died April 30th at Davis Hospice, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born July 21, 1935 in Dover, Tennessee.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Corky Hodges whom she married on July 21, 1966 at her parent’s home in Cheyenne. A daughter, Mari C. Belecky of Thornton, Colorado; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Belecky of Thornton; Zachary Belecky of San Diego, California; Kory Doren of Denver; a brother, Haldon Page of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee; and a sister, Dolores (Jim) Eskenberry of Thornton.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gina Doren; and her parents, Elisha and Vergie M. Page.
Jeanine moved to Cheyenne with her family in 1945 from Decatur, Illinois. She attended schools in Cheyenne, graduating from Cheyenne High in 1953. She attended the University of Wyoming earning her BS in social work. She later attended the Denver University earning her Master’s Degree in social work on May 31, 1988. Jeanine was a social worker for the Laramie County School District until her retirement.
She was a devoted mother, wife and grandmother, always concerned with the well being of her family.
She enjoyed working outdoors in her yard with the flowers and trees. She and Corky owned a cattle farm in Shiloh, Tennessee for 40 years and she enjoyed being there for a few months each year. Jeanine was an accomplished vocalist, singing for years in the church choir. She did many plays and musicals with the Cheyenne Singers.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., at First United Methodist Church, Reverend Elizabeth McVicker will officiate. A luncheon will follow the service with Interment at 1:15 p.m., at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
