Jay Nussbaum Sr. 85 of Cheyenne, WY. passed away at The Davis Hospice Center on Dec. 3, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 5, 1937, in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming to Claude and Gladys Nussbaum. The youngest of nine children, he graduated from Pine Bluffs High School before joining the US Navy from 1955-1959. After his Navy service, he worked as an engineer for Illinois Bell, Mountain Bell, and US West; he retired from the Bell system in 1990. In retirement, he spent 6 years working as an Auto CAD Operator for ESC in Fort Collins. He then began his favorite part of retirement working for the Colorado Rockies in guest relations where he stayed 20 years and enjoyed many baseball games.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shelbia, his children Kenny, Debby Nold (Carl), Jay Jr. (Anna), David (Christy) and Randy (Diana), one sister Betty Necklason, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son Denny and his seven brothers, Claude Jr, Harold, Marshall, Wesley, Charles, Kenny, Ray.
Services will be later in the spring.
