James William Hipolito, 68, of Cheyenne, died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the VA Hospital.
He was born June 16, 1947 in Los Angeles, California, a son to Tiburcio and Fern (Gladden) Hipolito. James received his schooling in California before joining the United States Army, where he served for 18 years before he was medically retired. He lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for a short while before moving to Cheyenne in 2005.
James was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #1881 and the American Legion.
He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and he loved wildlife. He also enjoyed traveling and cruising down the highway.
Survivors include sons, James-Jose (Tina) Hipolito of Cheyenne; John (Marcy) Hipolito of Minnesota; Jimmy Hipolito of California; step sons, George Tiqui of Maryland; Gerald Tiqui of Maryland; Greg Tiqui of Hawaii; daughters, LeiLani (Ashley Patino) Hipolito of Las Vegas, Nevada; Cherice Hipolito of Utah and step daughter, Gina Edmund of California; grandchildren, Ariana, John, Jr., Aiden, Gaven and Elliani Hipolito, all of Minnesota; Adiana Hipolito and Brayden Sosa both of Cheyenne; Nigel Lopez of New Mexico; Steven Paisley of California; Bradley Davis; Chris Jones; DeaAnna Robertson; and Nikki Jones all of Utah; Brandon and Richard Dristy of California; Tiffany, Travis, Charice, Amber and Preston Tiqui, all of Hawaii; a step grandson, Randall Tiqui of Maryland; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, George Gladden and his parents.
Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 1:15 p.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Memorial Contributions may be made in James’ name to the VA Hospital CLC Unit.
