Jim Gear, 77, of Cheyenne, passed at Swedish Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on April 10th, 1947, in Ketchikan, Alaska to Ida & Aubrey Gear.
Jim was enrolled in the Navy at age 17 and served two tours during Vietnam. Upon his return to Cheyenne, he joined the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union where he worked as a Training Coordinator, Apprenticeship Coordinator, and Business Manager for Local 192. During this time, he was appointed by three Wyoming Governors to serve on State Council on Vocational Education and the Wyoming Workforce Council. Jim poured his heart into the lives of his family and friends, through which he was able to show his love through acts of service. In his free time Jim loved to swim, fish, and play cribbage.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Gear; children, Catherine and Joe Gear; and brother, Tom Gear.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ida & Aubrey Gear; sisters, Debbie Valdez & Susan Ahks.
Services Service to be held at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes on Friday, May 10, at 10:00 am, followed by a celebration of life at the American Legion.
