James (Jim) Clawson, 76, of Cheyenne, passed from this life on May 16, 2024.
Jim was born October 23, 1948, the eldest son of Herschel and Jean (Tugman) Clawson. He grew up at Horse Creek, attending Ingleside (now Clawson) Elementary, and graduating from Cheyenne Central in 1967.
Jim was a rancher and truck driver by trade, with a few years spent working construction for Paul Gertsch, before going to work for Knife River where he would spend the last 19 and a half years.
Jim was an avid pool player, playing on leagues for many years. He enjoyed hunting, spending time with his family and of course, CFD. He also enjoyed working leather, making numerous belts, and wallets to order.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Herschel; infant daughter, Jeanette, his brother Donnie; and his mother Jean. He is survived by his daughters, Nicki (Tim) Cotton, and Sherri Hall, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; dear friends, Mike and Vera Lightfoot, Mary, Wayne, Virginia Clawson, and too many others to list.
He lived a full life, and will be deeply missed. Rest easy beneath these western skies Dad, we’ll take it from here.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the American Legion Post 6, at 6:30 PM.
