James W. “Jim” Brown, 80, of Cheyenne, died Monday, July 10, 2017 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 24, 1937, in Whitesburg, Kentucky to Curtis and Oma Brown. Jim served his country in the United States Air Force and upon his discharge attended school in Casper where he learned his trade. He was employed with Union Pacific Railroad upon completion of his schooling and settled with his wife Dorothy in Cheyenne. They were married on May 27, 1956. Jim was a very loving and giving husband and father.
Jim was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, gambling and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy of Cheyenne; three daughters, Wanda Brown; Deborah (Glen) Lewis; and Theresa (Mike) Sampeck, all of Cheyenne; a sister, Brenda Cox of Felicity, Ohio; eleven grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Christen; a grandson, Brandon; two brothers and three sisters.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. At Jim’s request no services are being planned.
