Dr. James L. Barber, DDS, 78, of Cheyenne, unexpectedly passed away on Aug 7, 2024, at Poudre Valley Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 22, 1946, in Union City, PA to Richard Barber and Wanda (Thurston) Beall. Jim had a successful dental practice in Cheyenne for over 20 years. After practicing in Cheyenne, he moved to Wisconsin to give back to his community by practicing dentistry at Chippewa Reservation. After retiring he moved back to Cheyenne. Jim was a retired LT. Colonel serving in the US Navy, Air Force, Naval Reserves, and the Wyoming Air Nation Guard for a total of 28 years of service. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Wyoming Dental Association, Lions Club, Knight of Columbus and on the board of LCCC Hygiene school. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carol, his children Micheal Barber (Barbara), Emily Barber (Mike) and Theresa Barber (Andrew), 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and sister, Bonnie. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother David. Jim was an amazing husband, father, Papa, brother and friend to all. Vigil for the Deceased will be Sunday Aug 11, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Funeral Liturgy will be Monday Aug 12, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church followed by a small reception.
