Jacquie L. Bensley, 70, Lifelong Cheyenne resident, died Monday, May 15, 2017 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 20, 1946 in Cheyenne, a daughter to Carl and Earlene (Waxham) Johnson. Jacquie married James Bensley on December 4, 1964 in Fort Collins, CO. She graduated from East high school in May of 1965. She worked for the State of Wyoming Family Services. She also worked as the art director for local advertising agencies.
Jacquie was a polio survivor and belonged to a local survivor’s group for many years. She was also a member of the Oak Spokes and served as their secretary for 20 years. Among her hobbies were crafts, stain glass, ceramics and oil painting.
Survivors include her husband James of Cheyenne; two sons, Roger Bensley and Brad Bensley both of Cheyenne; two grandchildren, Karson and Anessa Bensley, both of Cheyenne; and a brother, Randall Johnson of Mitchell, South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery.
