Jack L. Peterson, 95, of Cheyenne, died on Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Kindred Transitional Care Center in Cheyenne.
He was born on August 23, 1918 in Holyoke, Colorado and had lived in Cheyenne for 5 years.
Mr. Peterson served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was in 23 battles at sea. Jack retired as a foreman at Public Services of Colorado in Alamosa, and earlier in life owned a dairy farm. He was very involved with his family and loved welding and building toys and equipment for his boys.
He is survived by three sons, Jack Peterson (Shanna) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Bill Peterson (Dee) and Ken Peterson (Cheryl), both of Cheyenne.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Dean Peterson in 2005; three brothers, Bob, Bill, and Gene; a sister, Almeda; and his parents, Martin and Katherine Peterson.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Private family services will be held in Florence, Colorado.
