Ira Wyche Blackwell, 55, formerly of Colorado, died July 3 in Tyler, Texas. He was born Nov. 18, 1959, at FE Warren Air Base in Cheyenne. A Life Commemoration service will be held at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel in Cheyenne, Wyoming on Saturday at 10am on August 22, 2015. Interment with military honors will be at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens following the service. Ira joined the U.S. Navy in 1980, and spent most of his Navy career on the USS Gridley 21. He returned home after 12 years of service and moved to Colorado, where he was employed at a variety of places. As his health failed, he moved to Texas to live with his mother. Ira was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Christine Blackwell. He is survived by a daughter, Jenna Dues of Helena, Mont.; mother, Edna Kennedy of Callender Lake, Texas; and father, Ira W. Blackwell Jr. of Albuquerque, N.M.
