.
He was born July 29, 1928 in Windsor, CO to John and Elsie Comin; the youngest of six siblings, so he learned to charm people at an early age.
He served two years in the Army after graduating from Cheyenne High School, and on Feb 25, 1949 he married his beautiful bride of 65 years, Thea. They had two daughters to whom he spent his life teaching household fix-it techniques, car mechanics and survival tips (to minimal success). The girls have many memories of spending hours rigging up things that would make the tasks easier…usually adding 2-3 hours to the job.
Herb was a member, then co-owner of Comin Construction in Laramie, WY for 36 years. In retirement, Herb purchased J & S Car Wash in Torrington, which he maintained for 27 years. He loved working the car wash in the mornings, then hitting the golf course every afternoon. Golf was his passion, and he was lucky enough to play many courses in several states. When his eyesight failed he managed to continue playing with help from friends.
Herb will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, lively debates with Thea, and for the love he had for his wife and family.
Survivors include his wife, Thea; daughters Cheryl (Jim) Schwartz, Cathy (Kim) Bowman; granddaughters Amber Holen, Desiree Garcia; grandson Bo Bowman; six great-grandchildren; Brother Ed (Jean) Comin; numerous nephews, nieces, friends and faithful canine companion, Fluffy. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Baby and Rhoda, brothers Tom and Jim, and grandson Trey.
We believe Herb is now at the deluxe golf course in Heaven, and explaining to God an easier way to do things! Be patient God, he means well...
