Henry Edward “Snazzy” Schriner was born July 5, 1929. He passed on in the early morning of Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019 in his wife’s arms.
It’s hard to think of Snazzy without thinking of him with a horse: riding, driving, or training. His first love was horses, and he spent his life working with hundreds of them. Later, he founded the Pony Patch with his wife, Lorene.
He is preceded in death by his parents, all 9 of his siblings, and his daughter, Tracy.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lorene; his daughter Laura (Tim); step-children, JoDee and Carter; grandkids, Jaidah, Josh, Jenny, Andy, Sam and Hannah; and great-grandsons, Alexander and Tristin.
In addition to horses, Snazzy excelled at several hobbies including making: mini replicas of horse drawn wagons and farm equipment, turquoise jewelry, pies and bread, outdoor fish pond, glass etching, hosting annual summer picnics and founding the annual Hillsdale Christmas Parade and Chili Celebration with Bob Winslow.
Snazzy had a special way with words. He could make up the funniest rhymes, the most creative insults, and several sayings we refer to as “Snazzisms”
