Helen (Ward) Port, 93, passed away in Weed, California on April 15, 2014.
She was born January 12, 1921 to Joseph and Elizabeth (Bell) Walters in Brighton, Colorado. She lived in Cheyenne for over 50 years. She issued marriage licenses for 23 years for the Laramie County Clerk’s Office, retiring in 1996 at age 75. She spent time in Weed, California with her son, Roger, and in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with her daughter, Pam. She enjoyed traveling, camping, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. She had a passion for music, playing the organ, piano, and accordion. She also loved to dance. She was skilled at crafts and crocheting. She served as member of the Moose Lodge, the Eagle’s Fraternal Lodge, the American Legion, and the Good Sam’s Camping Club with her late husband, Paul Port.
Helen is survived by her son, Roger Ward (Beth); daughter Pamela Reed (Bob); grandchildren Glen Reed, Scott Reed, Christopher Reed, Jeremy Ward, Andrea Staker, Adam Ward, Garrett Ward, Robbie Wilm, David Wilm, and Brittany Wilm ; and great-grandchildren Owen Ward, Cassandra Reed, Bayley Ward, Taylor Ward, Alexis Hoagland, and Sierra Tinsley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Neil Ward and Paul Port; infant brother; and sisters Isabelle Seltzer and Margie Rickers.
Timeless Memories Service will occur Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with Rev. Sandi Dillon officiating.
