Helen Case

April 22, 1930 — December 10, 2022

Helen Jewel Case, 92, passed away peacefully in the presence of family on December 10, 2022. Born April 22, 1930, in Buhl, Idaho, the daughter of Leura J. and Roy C. Williams; Helen grew up in Hyattville and later Worland, Wyoming where she met her husband Les Case. Helen and Les dated upon his return from WWII and eloped to Thermopolis on January 4, 1947. She was married to her high school sweetheart for an impressive 69 years, a true testament to her love and commitment. Helen lived a full and happy life, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Helen was an avid metal detector, quilter, homemaker, secretary, and member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and as her family grew so did her love. In 1984, Les and Helen retired to travel the country and the beautiful state of Wyoming in their RV and spent many summers at annual family reunions in Thermopolis. Helen will be interred this summer in Thermopolis, next to Les, and the decades long tradition of family reunions will continue as we celebrate her life. She was a shining light in our lives and will be forever missed.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, 5 siblings and husband. She is survived by sons, Rocky Case (Judy) and Wayne Case (Ruth), grandchildren: Tiffany Case Thomson, Amiee Reese (Case), Sam Case (Sarah), Eric Case (Christine), Rocky Case (Chava), and Mackenzie Case; great-grandchildren: Taylor, Brooke, Carter, Madyson, Ayden, Clara, Owen, Keaton, Montgomery, Sophia, Rory, Poppy, and Clover; great-great grandchildren: Silas and Banks; cousins including: Jo Jean DoHoney, Dean Williams, and Lorraine Thomas, and nephews and nieces: Raymond, Candee, Deb, Diane, Dean, Carol, Linda, Patty, Laraya and Kevin.

Memorial services will be held at Wiederspahn Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes, 1900 E. 19th St., Cheyenne, Wyoming on January 6, 2023 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to truesiouxhope.org, in honor of Helen’s Oglala Sioux heritage, and her grandmother Susie H. Hawkins.
