H. Beth Kleager

Beth Kleager 97 died January 4, 2015 at the Sterling House in Longmont Colorado.

Beth was born October 16, 1917 in Nora, Nebraska to Ida and Wilson Whiting. She graduated from Alda High School. She earned an Education degree from the Teachers College in Kearney, Nebraska. After college, she taught all 8 grades in a one room Country school near Alda, Nebraska.

Beth married Clarence (Joe) Kleager on May 23, 1943 in Alda. They made their home in Cheyenne in May 1946, after Joe returned from serving in the Army in the Korean War, during World War II. There, they were blessed with four children; Jerald (Jerry), Michelle, Craig and Donn.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Meals on Wheels, Needs Inc., and she volunteered at the Henderson Elementary School, as a Teacher's Aide and the Regional Medical Center as a Greeter. Beth received the "Book of Golden Deeds" award in 1992 from the City of Cheyenne Volunteers.

Beth enjoyed all types of Literature books, volunteer work, and visiting with family, friends and neighbors.

Beth moved to Longmont in October 2007, when she could no longer stay in her house alone. She lived at the Sterling House until her passing.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, son Craig and brother Lyle Whiting.

She is survived by her children Jerry (Barb) Kleager of McAlister, OK; Michelle Wynkoop of Longmont; and Donn (Barb) Kleager of Highlands Ranch, CO. Beth; four grandchildren; Lisa (Courtney) Christian of Tusumbia, Al; Erica (Bryn) Daulton of Nicholasville, KY; Elliott Wynkoop of Longmont, and Katie (Quinn) McCartney of Rawlins. She also had two great-grandchildren Ethan and Benjamin Daulton.

Services will be at 2:00pm Thursday January 8th at Wiedersphan-Radomsky Chapel with Rev. Diana Hartman officiating. Interment to follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
