Gregory L. Kastner, 58, of Cheyenne, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Born July 5, 1955 in Sidney, Nebraska, Greg lived in Cheyenne since 2000. He attended schools in Hays and Logan, Kansas, graduated from Kelly Walsh and attended Casper College. Greg was a Landman and owner of Kastner Oil Properties. He also owned Tangenuity Enterprises. He was a member of Denver Petroleum Landman Association, International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (363), and Cheyenne Guitar Society. He ran sound and lights in Cheyenne, Reno and Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Greg was an avid musician, serving many Praise and Worship teams throughout the West. He was drummer for MoG (Men of God), performing with Cloyd Ash for 2011 HeavenFest in Colorado. He was a car buff, coffee connoisseur, champion swimmer and was training for a triatholon. Greg lived his faith and served Jesus. He was a member of Destiny Church. Greg lived magnanimously! An adoring father and grandfather, his focus was family.
Greg met Doc, the love of his life, in January 2010 while serving on the Worship Team at Destiny Church. They have ministered in song together since that time in Wyoming and upstate New York. They recently lead worship with MoG in the Capitol Rotunda for the National Day of Prayer in May. They were active members of Girlfriends and Watchmen ministries at Destiny. Greg and Doc enjoyed hiking, biking, shopping, movies, concerts, dining out, and spending quiet time together, as well as spending time with their family and friends. They delighted in theater season at the Cheyenne Civic Center and Temple Buell Theater in Denver. They were blessed to experience the successful blending of their two families into one. They were engaged in April 2014 and were to be married on October 18, 2014. Their relationship was a testimony to the beauty of God’s grace, His love and power to change lives.
