Gloria Joy (Daniels) Gray, 84, passed away on February 12, 2018. Joy was an only child, born in Cheyenne on January 27, 1934, where she lived the majority of her life. In 1982 she moved back into her childhood home, located in the now Historic District of South Cheyenne near the railroad where her father worked for 31 years. Joy had a strong faith in God and had been a longtime member of Meadowbrooke Church. She served for many years as a Foster Grandparent volunteer in the Cheyenne School District.
Joy lived up to her name with a friendly spirit and sense of humor that brought smiles to those who knew her. She had a love of music and dance that began as a child while attending square dances at family and community gatherings. As a teenager during the birth of rock and roll, dancing was the popular activity, and Elvis her favorite musician. Music continued to be a source of enjoyment for her until the very end.
Joy is survived by five of her children and their spouses: Debra McCutcheon; Vicki (Mike) Hamel; Daniel (Rochelle) Cashman; Candace Lewis (Steve Utter); Marie (Jeff) Rosellini; as well as 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Joy was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Linda (Cashman) Boone (2017); her parents Pauline (Shelton) Daniels (1997), and Seth Daniels (1992); and her first husband Lindsey Cashman (1962).
Joy lived at Granite Rehab and Wellness for the past 2 1/2 years. She established treasured friendships with both the residents and staff.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
In lieu of flowers, Joy would ask that you share a smile, turn on your favorite music, and dance in her memory.
