Glenna Sue Flyte, 64, of Cheyenne, passed away at her home on February 6th. She was born in Cheyenne, Wy to Viola Bernice Rowe and Glenn Eugene Mathewson. Glenna was co-owner of Flyte Sanitation for over 30 years. Prior to that she had worked for the Wyatt Corporation. She also worked as a maid at the Downtowner and spent a summer working at the Diamond Guest Ranch in Chugwater when she was 16. She graduated from East high school in 1976. Glenna had so many hobbies and interests. She was a collector of many things including coins, hats, and historic memorabilia. Glenna was especially proud of her Scottish heritage and loved attending the Estes Park Scottish Irish festival. She enjoyed sewing as well as needlepoint. She also would spend lots of time painting, drawing, and listening to her audiobooks. More than anything though, Glenna loved spending time with her family and friends. She made friends everywhere she went and was an unforgettable presence who brought joy to everyone around her.
Glenna is survived by her beloved son, Samuel Flyte; sister, Jeanne Lee North; daughter in-law, Jenny Flyte; grandson, Kolby Moon; lifelong friends, Laura Bowen and Linda Doty, as well as countless other friends who’s lives she touched in one way or another. She was preceded in death by her mother, Viola; and father, Glenn.
Services will be held at Wiederspahn Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes on Friday February 17th at 2:00 pm.
