Glen A. Oslund, 89, of Cheyenne Wyoming, passed away November 14th at Hospice in Laramie, Wyoming with his daughter at his side.
Glen was born October 10, 1930 in Cheyenne, WY. He was the sixth child born to Emil & Bertha Oslund. After graduating in 1948 from Cheyenne High School, he attended Colorado A & M (now CSU) on a basketball scholarship, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. There was where he met his loving wife, Beverly Cervin, in the college bookstore.
After college, he joined the US. Air Force where he graduated from pilot training. They were married in Dallas, TX on February 5, 1955. He was stationed in Mt. Tamalpais Air Force Base in Mill Valley, California. They returned to Denver when he was hired as a civil engineer to design I-25. In 1957, they returned to Cheyenne, as Glen became the commander of the 153rd civil engineering squadron for the Wyoming Air National Guard.
Glen was a loving husband and father to their two children, Lynnda & Robert, who both were adopted through Wyoming Children’s Society. Glen was very proud of the home he built to raise his family in. He retired from the Wyoming Air National Guard in 1985 as a Lieutant Colonel. After retirement, he volunteered as a wagon doctor for the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum. He was a loyal member of the “Wrinkle Club”, an all men coffee group that met every weekday morning. He was also a college fraternity brother to Sigma Alpha Epsilon and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cheyenne.
Glen is survived by his daughter, Lynnda Oslund Burnison (Phil) of Laramie; son, Robert Oslund (Charlotte) of Gaithersburg, MD; granddaughter, Ashlee Marie Oslund Lease of Fort Collins, CO; step-grandchildren, Nathaniel Burnison of Gretna, NE, Alexander & Emily Mueller of Gaithersburg, MD; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and siblings.
Visitation will Monday, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., at Wiedershspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Services will be Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
