Gladys H. Newlin, 94, of Cheyenne, exited this world and went to a better place on July 13, 2014.
She was born April 18, 1920 to Charles Theron and Bertha (Worden) Huddleston in Advance, Illinois.
Gladys married Ova Cox in 1940. Ova passed away in 1950 and she married Clarence Lee Newlin in 1954. He passed away in 2000. She was employed at the Baggs Cafeteria and later at Carey Junior High Cafeteria.
She is a 50 plus year member of the F.O.E. #128, where she held most offices. She is also a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Gladys was devoted to her family and was known as one of the best cooks in town.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandy Cox, sons, Charles and Roy Newlin, grandchildren, Brittany and Cody Newlin and great granddaughter Catelin Hope Newlin, all of Cheyenne; sister, Lola Cox of Casey, Illinois; sister-in-law, Nita Hills of Martinsville, Illinois; brother-in-law, George Newlin and wife Loretta of Decatur, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, parents, and seven siblings.
Services will be held on Thursday, July 17th at 4:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday and Thursday.
