Gerald "Jerry" Rivera, 89, of Cheyenne, Wyoming died on March 5, 2022 in Cheyenne. He was born May 1, 1932 in Rowe, New Mexico to Anastacio Rivera and Eloisa Gutierrez Rivera. Gerald was a Korean War Navy Veteran and was always honored and proud to have served his country. Gerald worked in the construction industry until he was injured in a work-related accident which confined him to a wheelchair for the remaining years of his life. In his younger years he enjoyed big game hunting and he always looked forward to his hunting trips with his Compadre David.
He is survived by his children, Jerry Rivera Jr. (Cindy), Pearl "Pixie" Judy (David), John Rivera (Pam), Joanie Chavez (Mike) and Christopher Rivera Sr. (Amy) He also had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by his sisters, Maria Bannon and Lina Johnson; brothers, Anthony Rivera and Gene Rivera.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; parents, Anastacio and Eloisa; daughter, Diane Harris; brothers, Rey Rivera, Joe Rivera and Santiago Rivera.
Funeral Liturgy will be at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel on Friday, March 11, at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Olivet Cemetery where Gerald will receive military honors.
