Gerald George Chidester, 83 passed away on July 26. He was born on July 31, 1932 in Cheyenne to Glen and Cecilmae Chidester. Gerald served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the latter part of the Korean War. Upon returning to Cheyenne Gerald was employed through the U. P. Railroad as a Car Forman for 38 years and retiring in 1988. He married Ubalda (Gina) Felici on March 8, 1961. Gerald had a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating. He had many hobbies that included car restoration, reading and gun collecting. He is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 55 years, Ubalda (Gina) Chidester, brothers, Vernon Chidester, Albert Chidester, sisters, Donna Mae Chidester and Alyce Husted. He is survived by his children Poalo (Martha) Ornelaz, Renato (Anna) Ornelaz, all of Cheyenne, Janet (Pat) Cowles of Burns, and Adriana Chidester of Denver, CO. Sister, Bonnie (Pat) Barta of Cheyenne, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Lady. His great sense of humor and silliness will be greatly missed, by those who knew and loved him. No services will be held and cremation has taken place, per Gerald’s wishes.
