George Edward Wagner was born December 24, 1945, and passed away peacefully at home with his family after a long, hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
George was born in Chicago, IL, to Alvin and Virginia, and raised in Minneapolis, MN. He spent time with family growing up at their cabin on Maple Lake, MN, which fostered a great love of the water. He very much loved fishing, water skiing, boating, sunrises, sunsets, and anything outside surrounded by nature.
He received his BA in Sociology from Hiram Scott College.
He proudly served with The US Coast Guard on The Cutter Tupelo as a diver in Search and Rescue from 1964-1968.
He married his wife, Kathy, on April 15, 1972. They raised five children together: John, Jeff, Jenny, James, and Juliana. He enjoyed going to their softball games and theater performances.
His faith was very important to him. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church; where he proudly served on the Parish Council. He also served on the School Board of St. Mary’s School; where he sent all of his children for their education.
George was a realtor in Cheyenne, and he owned Prestige Motors Auto Sales.
He loved his dogs, PeeWee and Hercules, and cat, Sherlock.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children, John (Tiffany) Wagner, Jeff, Jenny, James, and Julie (Anton) Arnold; two grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Vickie Wagner, Lynn (Dick) Rezek, Mary Murphy, JR (Connie) Baker, and Susan (Dan) Cottrell; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
