Genene Irene Elmore

March 13, 1931 — August 20, 2022

Genene Irene Elmore, 91, passed away August 20, 2022, at Life Care Center of Cheyenne due to complications from Alzheimer’s. As memories of her life experiences and the people she held dear to her heart continued to fade, she remained the sweet, kind, giving and loving person she had always been.
Genene was born March 13, 1931, in Morrill, Nebraska to Neva (Averill) and Vie R. Moore. She was the oldest of five children. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Eugene, Dale, and Richard (Dick) her sister, Marilyn (Mary) and great-grandson, Mack Douglas Houser. She is survived by her two daughters Rhonda Baccari (Dan), Machelle Pike (Ralph) and her grandson JW Houser V, his wife Nikki and their children, Damen and Dalia. Grandma Genene thought all babies were special, but she was certain the angels danced and sang the day her grandson was born.
Genene married Lewis Davis Baker July 15, 1950, and eventually married Jr. Elmore September 25, 1971. Both husbands preceded her in death.
Genene always lived a faith-filled life, but on a chilly November day in 2004, she declared her love, commitment, and faith in Christ. Last rites were lovingly administered by her nephews Wesley and Mark Baker.
Genene took pride in her home and family. She loved entertaining others in her home, she was an avid gardener and reader, always loving and welcoming at least one dog into her home, (she never met a dog she didn’t like)! She enjoyed camping and fishing in her younger years and was always ready and willing to take auto trips with her daughters and grandson. She was a self-taught artist in numerous paint mediums, and any craft project she attempted typically turned out superior to the original set of instructions. She continued with these crafts until she was no longer physically able to perform them to her level of perfection. Genene also established a bookkeeping business which she maintained until her retirement.
The family would like to thank the professionals at Life Care Center of Cheyenne for their kind and loving treatment and friendship of Genene while she was in their care. Rhonda and Machelle want to express their sincere thanks and love to all family members who traveled far and wide to visit Mom. Your thoughts and prayers gave us strength and hope over the years.
Genene’s wish was to have a private family celebration of her life so there will be no public memorial service.
