Gene Howard Harbinson, 74, passed away peacefully March 15th, 2020 at home surrounded by family and friends. Lung cancer came swift and fast so he didn’t suffer much.
He was born November 13, 1945 in Birmingham, WA. He grew up with the love of his cousins that became more like brothers to him. The Hesseltine family, meant the world to him.
He joined the Navy at 17 and met his loving wife, Lynnie, in California and married her at 18, just before his first tour in Vietnam. Gene did other 2 tours in Vietnam. Gene also did 2 tours at Midway Island. Gene retired after 27 years serving our country and was very proud of it.
After the military, Gene became an over the road truck driver for 20 more years. He passed time by working for Crowell, pouring concrete. His daughter, Penny, introduced him to facebook where he became addicted to Slotmania. He has acquired thousands of friends on Facebook, who love and adore him and his sense of humor.
Gene is survived by his 3 children, Harold Harbinson, of Hanford, CA., Tammara Wyatt, of Cheyenne, WY. and Penny Duval of Cheyenne, WY. Brother Dan Harbinson of MI, Ron Strand of WA and Sisters, Victoria Webster of CO, Jacque Waleski of Fl and Dottie Kruger of Tx.
His 7 grandchildren, David Harbinson, Krisitina Wyatt, Kearsty Wyatt, Matthew, Joshua and Angela Harbinson and Robert Bryant. 12 great grandchildren and Brandon Bainter, who was like a second son to him.
Gene was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Lynnie Harbinson and his parents, Harold Harbinson and Ila Stamp.
A memorial service with honors will be held on Saturday, June 20th at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel at 2PM.
