Gary L Felix
July 23, 1943-Dec. 19, 2020
My family and I are sorry to announce the 2 year death anniversary for our father, Gary Lance Felix. He passed away at the age of 77 in Cartersville, GA from a back injury where he became permanently disabled for most of his life, but ultimately Covid took his life.
Gary was born in Tacoma, Washington, raised primarily by his grandma Myrtle Wing. After she passed away he moved to Oregon where he met his first wife Linda with whom they had a daughter, Janene Felix. He had a son from a previous relationship Gaylen Felix (deceased 2021). Gary eventually moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he met the love of his life, Merrilee (Maxwell) Felix and spent 50 years together, married for 49. They were married Dec. 24, 1971.
Gary and Merrilee had 3 children together, Jason Felix (Rebecca) his son Jaron Felix, Deena Cummings, her kids Kyhler (Erin) and Jadyn Cummings, Eric Felix (Barbara) their kids Logan and Connor Felix. He also has a grandson Spencer Haley (Galen) whom he never had a chance to meet prior to his death.
Gary was an over the road truck driver until his back injury in 1976, that permanently disabled him. Gary never let his disability stop him from completing projects or working on cars. He had many friends over the years and would always give all he could for his friends and family.
Gary and his family lived most of their lives in Cheyenne, Wy. Every year the family would take vacations to Albuquerque, NM and Durango, CO. He looked forward to these vacations because “Family” was everything to him. His favorite past times were going fishing, hanging out with his grandkids and anything to do with cars. Our dad never met a stranger, he always had a smile for everyone he met.
He is survived by his Wife, children, grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, Ezequiel Cummings, Kayden Felix, Noah Jade Cummings and Lynx Felix.
Dad, we miss you every day. We love you with all our hearts. May you forever rest in peace
