On Tuesday, May 26, 2020, Winfried “Fred” Erwin Liebe, loving father, grandfather and husband passed away at age 81. Fred was born December 19, 1938 in Berlin Germany to Erwin and Ella (Studde) Liebe. He was educated in Germany. He married Sharron L. Wetzler August 19 1962. They raised two daughters, Heidi Ann and Diane.
Fred came to the United States in his early 20s and was drafted into service for the United States Army. He served his Army enlistment back in Germany as a linguist due to his knowledge of multiple languages. Upon his return to the United States, he obtained his US citizenship in 1968.
Fred was a Plumber, Pipefitter and Welder with Cheyenne Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 192. He was a 3rd Degree Master Mason in Cheyenne Grand Lodge #1 A.F. & A.M., he received his 32nd Degree of the Scottish Rite in Wyoming Consistory #1. Fred was Shrine Clown in the Korein Temple AAONMS and a member of the Cheyenne Shrine Club. He was a member of the Cheyenne Moose Lodge #257 and the American Legion Post 6.
As an avid car enthusiast, Fred combined his talent as a machinist and love of antiques to restore vehicles and machines. He also loved firearms and enjoyed reloading his own ammunition.
Fred was preceded in death by his father, Erwin Liebe, his mother Ella Liebe and his daughter Heidi Ann Kimsey. He is survived by his wife, Sharron Liebe, and his daughter Diane (Devin) Smith, Sister Ingrid Bresson, grandchildren Kyle Smith, Tyler Kimsey and Michaela Kimsey.
