Francis Ray “Frank” Clason, 68, of Pine Bluffs passed away April 8 in Cheyenne.
He was born April 2, 1946, in Ainsworth, Nebraska, to Jesse Neal and Martha Mae Clason.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Frank graduated high school in Spokane, Washington, in 1964 then volunteered for duty in the U.S. Army, serving in Germany and Vietnam. Upon return stateside, Frank married Pat (Shipton) Clason in Coeur d’alene, Idaho. Frank often bragged to his family that he’d known Pat since she was 15 years old (he was 17), and that he tricked her into going out with him by refusing to take back a ring she tried to return from an acquaintance, until Pat agreed to go on a date with him. His family was his glory and he was happiest when he was spending time with them.
He is survived by his wife, Pat, of Pine Bluffs; brother Bub Clason of Kaukauna, Wisconsin; two daughters, Mary Russell and her husband, Vince Janis of Bushnell, Nebraska; and Susan Murray and her husband, Ken of Cheyenne; five grandchildren, Ryan Jenkins and his wife Natalie of Waldorf, Maryland; Tyler Clason and his wife Amanda, Storm Claypoole, and Teisia Claypoole all of Bushnell; and Megan Murray of Cheyenne; two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Lakota Clason of Bushnell; several beloved nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Toots Brown and Sis Dempsey; and two brothers, Babe Clason and Sonny Clason.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3312 E. Lincolnway, Cheyenne. Bishop Lamont Muchmore will Conduct the Service, with Invocation by Clarke Theobald. Military honors will be presented by the Louis E. Canady American Legion Post 60 from Pine Bluffs. Cremation has taken place at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
