On February 22, 2017, Frances Marie Smith, seeking no consent or reprieve, made her peace and released her spirit to the universe of the Almighty. She was an independent sort and had many interests but caring for her loved ones was her top priority. She kept in touch with family and friends, was interested in their lives and loved them all.

Co. She married Marion Smith at St. Mary's in Cheyenne in 1955. Following her husband's discharge from the USAF, they returned to Wyoming and moved with their two children to Laramie in 1965. Frances was Publications Sales Manager for the Wyoming State Geological Survey in Laramie for many years before retiring in 1996.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion, in 1999; her father; her mother, Evelyn F. Mercer of Cheyenne; and her brother Joe Luchetta of Denver. She is survived by her son, Tony B. Smith of Cheyenne; her daughter. Michelle M. Lange of Ft. Collins, Colorado; her granddaughter, Charlynn Schmiedt and her husband Patrick of Azusa, California; and her sister-in-law, Irene Luchetta of Denver.
At her request, a simple memorial blessing will be held at the gravesite. Inurnment will be just inside the gate at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Cheyenne at a future date.
