Florence Martinez, 82, of Cheyenne, died on Sunday, August 10, 2014 in Cheyenne.
She was born on May 11, 1932 in Mora, New Mexico and had lived here since 1968.
Mrs. Martinez was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and plastic canvas.
She is survived by a daughter, Marie Elaine Barela (Jerry) of Cheyenne; a son, Vincent Martinez (Rose) of Cheyenne; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Martinez was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Vicente Martinez on November 9, 1989; two brothers, Tranquilino and Tony Lucero; three sisters, Tillie Velasquez, Christilla Gurule, and Beatrice Perea; a sister-in-law, Juanita Lucero; and her parents, Carlos and Eliza (Valdez) Lucero.
Vigil for the Deceased will be Thursday, 7:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Funeral Liturgy will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Carl Gallinger as the celebrant.
Pallbearers are Raoul Barela, Jerry Barela, Jr., Jason Martinez, Auston Martinez, Gabriel Martinez, and Angel Herrera.
Honorary pallbearers are Rodrigo Garcia, Jr., Elias Camargo, David Herrera, Jr., Anthony Barela, Michael Barela, Priscilla Barela, Ernesto Diaz, Destini Barela, Ashlynne Barela, Justin Clark, and all the rest of the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
