Faye Ann Brutsman, 65, passed away July 3, 2015 at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, WY with her loving family and her rescued Chihuahua, Gomez at her side. Faye fought a courageous battle with cancer, while continuing her devotion to her family.
Faye was born September 20, 1949 in Ypsilanti, Michigan; the daughter of the late Leonard F. and Julia E. (Burt) Barron. Faye graduated from Central HS, Cheyenne, WY, in 1967. She married James W. Brutsman on October 13, 1967. It was evident that raising their two sons was her priority.
Faye’s enduring passion for raising Shih Tzu’s coupled with her love for rescuing misplaced dogs spoke volumes of her compassionate personality. Her granddaughters always laughed when Faye would stop on the road and honk to warn birds that might be in the way. Faye’s favorite activities were “power shopping” with her granddaughters and friends, spending time in Estes Park, Colorado and the Teton Mountains with loved ones, and sending gifts to her grandson in Los Angeles. “Love you to the moon and back,” was the ending of phone calls, texts, and letters from her grandchildren.
Faye is survived by her husband, Jim, and sons Paul (Kara) of Casper, Wyoming and Bud (Adrienne) of Los Angeles California; sister Judy Foster (Roger) of Iuka, Mississippi; nephew Scott of Denver, Colorado; and three grandchildren Kendra, Jaden, and Bud “Deuce.”
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Faye’s memory to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, 800 Southwest Dr., Cheyenne, WY 82007.
