Eveline Magrath

November 16, 1933 — September 11, 2017

Eveline Luella (Lu) Magrath of Idaho Falls, Idaho died Monday, September 11, 2017 at Lincoln Court Retirement Community after a lengthy illness.

She was born November 16, 1933 in Laurel Creek, West Virginia, daughter of George and Annie Marsh. She lived in West Virginia until early adulthood, then moved to Detroit, Michigan to work for GM, where she met her future husband Francis Magrath. She moved to Cheyenne in 1956 and they were married.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Magrath of Thayne, Wyoming and Francis Magrath III of Orange, California; a sister, Rita Stecker of Michigan; a brother, Ray Marsh of Virginia; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Francis Magrath II; parents; and a grandson, Christopher Magrath.

Lu was an amazing homemaker for the early part of her marriage and always very active as a parent and in her community. She served as den-mother for cub scouts, and as a secretary for St. Mary’s school where her children attended, and many other activities during the child-rearing years.
After her children’s graduation from high school Lu worked for the parish at St. Mary’s with Father Michael Carr, she worked for a life insurance company, had a very successful stint self-employed as a home interior decorator. Never sitting idle, she learned medical transcription after she retired and provided that service for many doctors.
She will always be known as an amazing seamstress, cook, artist, dedicated and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be remembered fondly forever by all the people fortunate enough to have made her acquaintance.

Vigil for the deceased will be 6:00 p.m., Friday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Funeral Liturgy will be 9:30 a.m., Saturday at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Interment will follow at Olivet Cemetery.
